Barrister and Solicitor
Peter Ewanchuk attended the University of Alberta and graduated with distinction from the Faculty of Arts in 2009. He went on to attend Law School at the University of Calgary and graduated with his Juris Doctor in 2013.
While attending Law School in 2012, Peter joined a prominent Firm in Calgary, Alberta that focused primarily in Family Law, and later went on to complete his Articles there in 2014. Peter had the tremendous fortune of immersing himself in the practice of Family Law early on, and learning from some of the top Family Law lawyers in the Province. While attending Law School, Peter volunteered his time with Student Legal Assistance and Pro Bono Students Canada.
Peter was called to the Alberta Bar in July, 2014 and has practiced in Airdrie, Alberta since that time. The decision to leave Airdrie was a difficult one, as the relationship that Peter developed with the members of the firm and community will last a lifetime. However, Peter was born and raised, in Edmonton, Alberta and the desire to “move home” was strong. The opportunity to work with a lifelong friend and mentor was something that Peter could not pass up. Peter is excited to have recently returned to the City of Edmonton with his wife and son, and to practice and serve the community in which he grew up.
Peter has appeared before the Provincial Court of Alberta, the Court of Queen's Bench of Alberta, and the Court of Appeal dealing with issues of divorce, child support and spousal support, property division, custody and parenting and mobility. However, Peter believes in utilizing all methods of dispute resolution to best serve his clients, and to achieve positive results as efficiently and economically as possible. Peter is a strong proponent of alternative methods of resolution including mediation, Arbitration, parenting coordination and Judicial Dispute Resolution.
Peter’s practice areas include Family Law, Civil Litigation, Corporate Law, Wills and Estates, and, Real Estate.
Peter is passionate about the practice of Law and assisting his clients to resolve their problems in an efficient and cost-effective manner. Peter is keenly attuned to the emotional and financial stresses that may unfortunately accompany some aspects of legal matters, and works hard to help clients to understand the legal process and all of the options available to them to resolve their matters.
In his spare time Peter enjoys cooking, fishing, skiing and camping as well as spending time with his family and friends.
