Rod I. Tkachuk
Barrister and Solicitor
Kinetic Law is proud to celebrate our senior associate, Rod Tkachuk, on his 50th anniversary as a lawyer in Alberta.
Rod received his Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Saskatchewan in 1969 and was admitted as a member of the Alberta bar on July 21, 1970.
Rod has a breadth of legal experience earned over the decades, working as a criminal defence lawyer, then for the Crown Prosecutor's office and later working as an instructor with the Police & Investigations program at Grant MacEwan University.
Rod moved to private civil practice with his former partner, owning and operating the firm Tkachuk & Patterson for over 20 years, with Rod continuing his solo practice after Patterson retired. Now Rod is joining Kimberley and Peter to form Kinetic Law and transition slowly into retirement. Notwithstanding this transition, Rod is excited to continue to serve as counsel and mentor to Kimberley and Peter and to pass along his many years of experience in helping others.
Today Rod's practice includes residential and commercial Real Estate and Wills and Estates.
Rod and his wife enjoy spending time with their two sons and grandchildren. Rod's eldest son is a lawyer in Edmonton, and his youngest son is a Social Worker in the inner city. Rod is a volunteer for the Edmonton Food Bank and is an active parishioner of St. Herman's Orthodox Christian Church.
